A lot recall tracking workflow begins with a reliable lot identifier and a current inventory record. The record can support internal review, but it does not decide whether a recall is required or replace an organization's safety and regulatory procedures.
Identify the affected lot
Confirm the item and exact lot code against the source that triggered the review. Avoid relying on the lot number alone when the same code could exist under another item.
Review quantity and location
Check the recorded balance and current storage location, then reconcile them with the physical inventory. Record corrections with a reason instead of silently replacing uncertain values.
Record operational status
Marking a lot recalled or quarantined distinguishes it from ordinary active inventory. That status is an internal operational signal, not proof that notifications, disposition, or regulatory steps are complete.
Preserve and export the activity record
Review receipts, movements, consumption, shipments, status changes, and corrections. Export the lot history when another reviewer needs the recorded sequence outside the workspace.
