Small manufacturers may need a clearer material-lot record before they need a full manufacturing ERP. The practical goal is to know which received lot is present, where it is stored, how much remains, and what inventory activity has been recorded.
Receive material lots separately
Connect each received group to the correct material item, lot code, quantity, unit, location, and optional dates. Separate records preserve differences between deliveries of the same item.
Record internal movement and use
Update the record through movement and consumption operations so current balances do not depend on remembered changes. Record shipment when lot-controlled inventory leaves the workspace.
Use status and history for review
Quarantine or recall status can flag a material lot for attention. The history provides context for recorded operations and corrections, and exports support further review.
Respect the system boundary
Control My Lots does not currently model bills of materials, work orders, production scheduling, finished-goods genealogy, or serialized units.
